During the PEEK injection molding process, the problem of rough surface of the product often occurs, which not only affects the appearance quality of the product, but also has a certain impact on the performance of the product. In order to solve this problem, we have summarized some experiences, as follows:
1. Polish the PEEK mold cavity again to improve the finish of the mold, thereby increasing the surface smoothness of the product.
2. Dry the PEEK plastic raw materials, use recycled materials reasonably, prevent impurities from being mixed in, and reduce the roughness of the product surface.
3. Check the feeding port and the plasticization of the PEEK plastic material, and then adjust the parameters to ensure that the raw materials can be fully melted to reduce the pores and granularity on the surface of the product.
4. Clean and repair water leaks and cracks or prevent water vapor from condensing on the wall, wipe off oil stains, and avoid the influence of water vapor and oil stains on the surface quality of the product.
5. Correctly select a small amount of silicone masterbatch to replace the release agent and clean the mold to reduce the residue of the release agent on the product surface and improve the smoothness of the product surface.
6. The problem can be improved by increasing the injection pressure, increasing the mold temperature, and increasing the PEEK feed, increasing the filling degree and fluidity of the melt, and reducing the pores and granularity on the product surface.
7. Increase the injection pressure and speed setting, increase the melt temperature, increase the back pressure, and improve the density and surface smoothness of the product.
8. Modify the mold slope, reasonably select the ejector parameters, and operate carefully to reduce the deformation and shrinkage problems on the product surface and improve the smoothness of the product surface.
9. When mixing, pay attention to the uniform size of the PEEK particles to prevent other materials from entering by mistake, ensure the purity and uniformity of the raw materials, and thus improve the smoothness of the product surface.
